In the Segura valley, Cieza has thousands of hectares of stone-fruit orchards that bloom from mid-February to late March, mixing the deep pink of peach blossom with the white of apricot and plum trees.
What grows here
Irrigated orchards grown for fruit: mainly peaches, apricots and plums, along with nectarines, flat peaches and almonds. Farming accounts for around 80% of the local economy.

Did you know?
The blossom's rise as an attraction is credited to photographer and art teacher Fernando Galindo. In the early 1990s, looking through photos of his daughter, he noticed the carpet of blossom behind her and began to promote it.
