Small lavender fields beside El Romeral, on the La Mancha plain in Toledo province. They flower from mid-June into July and are cut between mid and late July; visits usually combine the fields with the village's windmills.
What grows here
Lavender grown using organic, low-impact methods. The flowers are distilled into essential oils and made into cosmetics, and bees produce lavender honey. Castilla-La Mancha accounts for around 60% of Spain's lavender-growing area.

Four 19th-century windmills stand above the village: El Crítica, El Muela, Los Gorrinos and El Pechuga. Only El Pechuga still has its original machinery in working order.
