Almond trees in the north-west of La Palma, around the El Pinar district of Puntagorda, set in a volcanic landscape. They blossom in late January and early February.
What grows here
Traditionally farmed almond trees. For generations almonds were the municipality's main source of income, helping local families meet their most basic needs.

Did you know?
The Almond Blossom Festival has been held in El Pinar since 1977. Visitors are offered salted almonds and local wine, and each year the festival is dedicated to a different municipality on the island.
