San Felices, a village in Soria at the foot of the Moncayo, is known as Soria's 'little Provence' for its lavender and lavandin fields, which are at their most vivid in late July and early August.
What grows here
Maillette lavender and Super lavandin, grown since 2007 by a couple who distil the flowers in their own still. The oil goes into perfumes and cosmetics, mosquito repellents and even food preservatives.
